Not so excellent yet...

We left Seattle on Sunday, July 10th, took a BC ferry from Tsawassen to Nanaimo and headed for Campbell River.  Unfortunately, we burned up a wheel bearing and tire on the boat trailer south of Courtenay, BC.  Not surprisingly, no tow truck big enough to handle the trailer and boat was available on Sunday evening.  We used our Yankee ingenuity to fashion a sling for the axle from our new tow strap and limped into Courtenay, where a couple of mounties escorted us to a marine repair shop.  We boondocked in their parking lot and, next morning, the boss took a look and sent us to Courtenay Spring and Welding.  They have welded on two new spindles and are replacing backing plates, bearings, brake system, etc.  Meanwhile, we have been doing our sightseeing by land!  We might get the Bonaroo in the water this afternoon.  I will post some photos later.
The weather is not as wonderful as it was last year - showers and cool, but we are prepared.  Looking forward to getting underway...
